A WORD FROM THE FOUNDERS

Aïda Slimani, Doctor of Pharmacy.

“Take black cumin seeds.” This advice was often given to Aïda by her mother when she was a child. Since then, black cumin has naturally been part of her culture and daily life. Aïda is convinced that nature is our first pharmacy, a belief that inspires DE AUREA.

After a year and a half in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs, Aïda went on to support an international clinical trial within a biotech start-up. This experience paved the way for her first venture, DE AUREA. In 2025, she founded Laboratoire Amani alongside her friend Imane Achour. Together, they have made the improvement of skin health and appearance their shared mission.

Imane Achour met Aïda on the benches of the University of Strasbourg. She, too, experienced early on the power of black cumin. With Aïda, she shares a passion for science and nature. In 2024, she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree after successfully defending her thesis, “Bacteriophages: The Role of Phage Therapy in the Fight Against Antibiotic Resistance.”

Entrepreneurship has always been part of her nature. “I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset.” At 21, Imane founded her first company and later coached entrepreneurs in developing their projects. “Entrepreneurship, yes, but with purpose.” A purpose that today bears the name DE AUREA.
